Anti-wear additives<\/strong>, commonly referred to as AW additives, adhere to the metal surface due to their polarity. There, AW additives can specifically compensate for surface irregularities. This activity of wear protection additives is often activated by an increase in temperature in the mixed friction area. Additionally, AW additives provide excellent long-term stabilization, as new surfaces continuously form at friction points, minimizing wear-related material loss.<\/p>\n

AW additives in the lubricant industry<\/strong> are an essential building block of high-quality lubricant formulations. AW additives improve lubricity and inhibit oxidation, which increases the service life of machines. Anti-wear additives<\/strong> of the LUBIO\u00ae<\/sup> AW series help to protect moving metal parts from friction damage. The wear protection additives include phosphorus compounds such as LUBIO\u00ae<\/sup> AW 7, AW 8 (also AW 8 SP+HQ), AW 9 and AW 10 but also more complex sulphur compounds such as LUBIO\u00ae<\/sup> AW11 or AW 17. The best-known AW additives include zinc dialkyl dithiophosphates (ZDDP) such as LUBIO\u00ae<\/sup> AW 1, or AW 18.<\/p>\n
